Hello Evereyone!
Now it's time to say thank you and pass the baton to the next generation here at Orrefors Camping. After 19 summers, our journey as camping hosts ends at one of the most beautiful campsites in Småland (according to our guests).
From now on, Michèle and Marco and their three future summer workers Merlyn, Odin and Oscar will take responsibility for this enchanting jewel and we hope that all our guests will give them a chance and visit Orrefors-Camping in the future.
It was a fantastic and exciting time in which we met many nice people from Sweden and all parts of the world, and some of them even became real friends with whom we will continue to stay in touch.
It was an incredibly intense summer where we worked around the clock from May 1st to September 15th and made many great memories that we will never forget.
Well, the campsite was not just a job or a profession, and there were also many who said you had to be crazy and/or not smart to do something like this, but we dared to dedicate our whole lives to the campsite and the guests and since then it has been a lifestyle and our baby and we are not giving it up without sadness in our hearts to leave this beautiful place and the most beautiful workplace you could wish for.
But we believe we have found (or they have found us) a young family in Michèle and Marco and their boys who were as head over heels in love with this beautiful spot as we were when we got the opportunity to buy this enchanted but somewhat neglected little campsite 19 summers ago and we hope that all their plans and expectations come true... at least we have absolutely no regrets about our decision in 2006 to leave our secure jobs with secure finances behind and we certainly wouldn't want to miss a single day of being camping hosts.
Romy and I will stay and help with everything needed to get started... everything is brand new for the new host couple this coming season and until they have settled into their new lives, we will be there for you if you wish. Plus, I'll have another summer of fun meeting all our guests and having fun together and I'll have the opportunity to terrorize one or two campers one last time who really can't live without my bullying 😉

THE CAMPSITE
We are a small campsite, close to the nature and in the heart of the swedish “glasriekt”. At our owners-managed campsite you will find your time to relax, no matter you travel with a Caravan, Campervan, as backpacker or you want to rent a stuga at our place. Activities
Orrefors Camping is located directly at the lake Orranäsasjön. Feel free to enjoy fishing, go swimming, canoing or simply take a break by watching a beautiful sunset in the evening. Beside this our campsite is equipped with mingolf, tabletennis, public pavilion and many other things. We provide a separated playground for dogs, here all “furnoses” can take a run without the leash.

Surroundings
The
campsite is in the middle of the Swedish glass-region. Beside the unique landscape
you will find a dozens of glassworks, glass manufactures and artists. Not far
away is the “Glasrikets Elk Park”. Also you can visit the "Astrid
Lindgren`s värld" in Vimmerby, the union city Kalmar or the Öland Island
for a day trip.

In 2006 we, Chris & Romy, took the step and met our dream of owning a campsite in the beautiful Småland. We are campers since many years. Over the time we visited a lot of places in the world. At Orrefors Camping we try to realize our vision of a nature campsite. During our trips throughout Europe, we had the chance to get to know so many nice campsites. In Orrefors Camping we try to transpose these experiences and make it a better place everyday.
