South Sweden

 

While visiting the south part of Sweden with its numerous lakes and never-ending woods,

you should allow some time for a trip to the Kingdom of Chrystal, where glass design has a more than hundred years old tradition. In addition to the glassworks of Orrefors, Kosta, Målerås, Boda etc there are multitudinous

individual glass artists, who provide an insight into this craftwork. We would like to recommend our campground as a basis for the exploration of all these places of interest.

We are Romy and Chris and we have taken over Orrefors-Camping in the summer of 2006.

It is our best effort to offer our guest a stay close to nature without the abdication of the familiar conveniences. Orrefors-Camping is a peninsula in the lake Orranäsasjön. It has an area of aproximately 6 hectare, which is about 3 km north-west of Orreforts and therefore in the centre of the Glasriket. The campground provides fifty campsites with power, which are in parts located directly at the lake, as well as two large meadows with aproximately thirty campsites and one campground for our autarkic guests.

 

 

The entire campground is covered over with old tree population, which spend enough shadow during the hot summers. As an answer of the multiple requests of our guests we arranged a couple of fireplaces, so that you can end the day sitting in a group and socializing next to a campfire.

For visitors without mobile accomodation we have our "Stugas",

each with 2-4 beds, as cheap alternatives to hostels or hotels. Nearby, there are heated shower- and bathrooms as well as a scullery with ovens and microwaves for free use.

As a matter of course we offer facilities to wash and dry. Guests with campmobiles can use our disposal and mainenance unit at no charge. The possibilities for leisure time activities at our campground are very multifaceted. For water-loving guests we have a large swimming area inculding a lawn for sunbathing and a swimming platform. Also exciting is an canoe expedition on the lake (aproximatly 130 hectare) and the joining waterways, for example to Orrefors. If you are not luckily enough to see an elk on one of

those expedition, you still have the chance to visit the Älgpark Grönåsen where you

will see an elk for sure. Do not miss bringing your angling equipment.

 

Is there anything better than preparing a self-caught fish at the

campfire at night? If the weather god was contrary to expectations in a bad mood, you still have the alternative to visit our campground restaurant. To burn the excessive calories you ingested there, you could use one of the following offers: miniature golf, volleyball, boule, long bike and walking tours. Do you have a pet?  No problem, it is more than welcome together with it’s owners. Finally, we would like to mention, that the campground is handicaped accessible.
